Odd Thomas Trailer
I had heard rumors that one of my favorite books and all around characters Odd Thomas, created by Dean Koontz, was getting his own movie. I heard them, was slightly interested, and then moved on. Then, my pal Jamie, alerted me of the above trailer for the movie which, again, I wasnt even aware was in production, starring all around wiz kid Anton Yelchin (aka the new Chekov.)
While I dont think he is a terrible choice for the role of Odd, he looks to bring a little quirk to the role, I dont think he is… well as odd as the character from the pages. My first impression is that they have taken Koontz strange, intense, whimsical title and turned it into a mainstream YA action flick. It still looks fun, but, at least from the trailer, it doesnt seem to have the heart that the book has.
Ill hold off judgment until I see the movie which from everything I have seen has no official release date yet.
